The UK and the Netherlands are committing an act of blackmail against Iceland with the help of the EU and IMF over the Icesave dispute.
That’s what former Icelandic health minister, Ogmundur Jonasson, said during an interview with BBC Radio 4 and the World at One program on Friday Oct. 2.
“We don’t like it when we get the International Monetary Fund, the European Union acting on behalf of the British and Dutch governments forcing us to pay what is more than our due,” he added.
Jonasson has recently resigned from his ministerial position noting “irreconcilable differences” with the government over the handling of the issue.
Iceland’s foreign minister, Ossur Skarphedinsson, was also interviewed.
